OUR MISSION

Our mission is simply to promote backyard birding, and to share our experiences with the local wildlife and birds with anyone who is equally passionate about birds and all things wild.

OUR HABITAT

Our habitat sits in the Manzano Mountains in the central part of New Mexico, with the center of the range situated about 25 miles southeast of Albuquerque. At about 7,600 feet in altitude, our coniferous forest is abundant with food sources, protective covering, and natural nesting sites.

OUR BIRDS

New Mexico has one of the highest species lists in the nation and is home to 5 National Forests covering more than 7% of New Mexico’s land base. Seven of our top 12 priority birds utilize these forest habitats for breeding including the Pinyon Jay, Juniper Titmouse, Virginia’s Warbler, Spotted Owl, Grace’s Warbler, Lewis’s Woodpecker, and Gray Vireo.
